Dave writes from TFA training in New York. Jeff talks about recording Mosquito.

What's up folks - Updates updates updates. Well just one, i suppose. This weekend, don and I went over to Eric Espiritu's house to lay down the bass and guitar tracks. Everything sounds great right now, and that's before the mixing and equalizing. Dave is still in NYC as far as i know, and will be back early-August to lay down some more vocal tracks and keyboard tracks. Expect the re-recording of Mosquito to rock your pants off, as if the first one didn't.

'sup. this is dave in nyc with teach for america. things have been busy up here but i've been having a great time. i'm staying at fordham university in the bronx, which has a great campus with the essential grassy "quad" that every college has. the buildings all look like churches, especially the gymnasium for some unknown reason. the baltimore corps members are tight, claiming a local bar called "the jolly tinker" as our own. it's a small, claustrophobia-inducing place with plenty of irish guys and 3 or 4 free pitchers for our group a night. seeing a lot of uva people here, including people i never knew went to uva. i'm averaging 4 hours of sleep a night, but it's worth it...not even halfway thorough the institute, this is an awesome experience.
on the musical side of things...sort of wish i could have brought my guitar up here, but i had enough luggage for 5 weeks as it already was. i get to watch the college network during dinner though, so i've seen plenty of muted music videos. russ is living in bethesda next year so i think there might be some more dave and russ action in maryland next year. before andrew and i left for vacation, we finished recording our tracks to the ultimate espiritu-produced version of mosquito, so sometime soon don and jeff will be finishing up their stuff and we'll put it up online. the raw unmixed version was sounding great when we left.
ride or die, what you gonna do? peace.
