Good news: I've accepted a job with Frog Design in New York.
Frog is a worldwide design studio with diverse solutions (branding, product design, interface design and more) and clients (Disney, Sony, Motorola and more). The variety of work here will definitely provide exposure to many new and exciting real-world challenges. The people are ridiculously talented, and the environment is open and colorful. I'm also really excited to move back to New York...expect plenty of movies in the future.
This past month, from the portfolio launch to the final offer, has been an incredible experience. When I was growing up, the best feeling in the world was always stepping off of the bus on the last day of school. Backpacks were empty. Super Soakers were taken out of the garage and fully pumped to eye-gouging capacity. The summer was wide open. This seems like the natural progression of that feeling. Being paid to imagine is a pretty freakin' sweet deal. This is going to be fun.

Travels
The recent trip to New York was great. I was lucky to explore several exciting opportunities, meet some amazingly talented people, and catch up with a few old friends. Next week, it's off to the west coast to check out a few more possibilities, and a final decision should come fairly soon after that. Place your bets: designer (2/1 odds), professional Mario Kart player (10/1), Portfolio Center teacher (25/1), Baltimore City Public Schools teacher (infinity/1), Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher (500/1 and 50 points from Hufflepuff), or sommelier / hot chocolatier (30/1).
Okaydave just passed the 150,000 visitor benchmark. Absolutely insane.
