gameboy advance. i'm the only one in the band who hasn't killed a million people in grand theft auto 3, so maybe that's why i stick with GBA instead. At $69.99, after being out for a year with hundreds of games available (and backwards-compatible with all old-school gameboy games), it's not all that 'spensive. i got mine only because i wanted to blow up all the kids at my day care center in bomberman: tournament (which i did several, several times). now i've also got super mario advance 2 (super nes super mario world - also can play as luigi and play the original mario bros. game), warioland 4 (fun but short), golden sun (first good gba rpg, fyi), mario kart: super circuit (new tracks plus all the old super nes tracks...but no 1-player battle mode) and castlevania: circle of the moon (the best game i have; castlevania meets metroid). this year they're coming out with a new metroid game, a remake of the super nes zelda game, super monkey ball (i just like the name), a new mario game; as well as new castlevania, bomberman and golden sun games. or at least that's what i just read at pocket.ign.com. i like not knowing what the heck is going on with video games anymore except when i read the occasional website update. i just go to toys r us and compulsively buy (just pretend that "r" is backwards).
speaking of which, the afterburner is a piece of crap. this is the supposed "ultimate lighting solution" to GBA, but it's not. after taking forever to install (including buying a new screwdriver and cutting parts of the plastic), the frontlight washed out the colors like LCD bleach. there's an "anti-reflective" film you're supposed to put on your screen, but no matter how you try to put it on, air bubbles always appear it. i uninstalled mine and stuck with using a separate reading light instead. complete waste of time and money.
i also just got the nerf blastfire dx500, which shoots 5 darts in succession or all at the same time. now that nerf guns are air-powered using a water gun-esque pump system, they shoot a lot farther (or further, whatever). on nerfonline.com they say nerf designs their guns not to shoot as hard and far as they potentially could, for safety's sake. apparently by opening up the guns and tinkering with the springs, you can do some crazy crap. nerfonline also shows how to make your own darts using stuff from a hardware store. i don't plan to either modify my gun or make darts, but it's pretty interesting nevertheless.
yes. whoop dee freaking doo. jeff posted. the site is a success.
