The Possibility Wars
There were a few minor changes made to the site today - a new archives page, some new navigation buttons and featured ads, and the re-opening of The Treehouse Merchant, the online store I used to sell Second Nature merchandise from. Right now we're only selling the ever-popular Pants-Rocked-Off teddy bear and boxer shorts, but much more Okay Samurai stuff will be available soon - everything from a frisbee to a wall clock!
But here's the best announcement - a brand-new Okay Samurai compilation album will be available for $9.99 in the Treehouse Merchant starting next week. Entitled Okay Samurai: The Possibility Wars (1993-2003), this 80-minute CD will span across the 10-year history of the band's many incarnations. I'm still working on the final track listing, but it will include the best songs from our albums as well as some extremely obscure stuff. You'll hear the first songs that Andrew and I recorded on our Radio Shack tape recorder in elementary school. You'll hear the first basement recordings with Don and Eugene. You'll hear the albums that we made in 1997 and 1998. You'll hear the mp3s we released through out college. And you'll also hear new exclusive acoustic versions of some old favorites. It's been a fun package to put together, and the end product is going to rock your pants off. More about this next week...
I had a great time in New York this past weekend. The fireworks didn't disappoint, and neither did a late-night karaoke bar called Iggy's. I was talked into doing Bye, Bye, Bye (dance moves and all) because you know, it was Tracy's birthday. I mean, she's a quarter-century old now. When I got off the stage, an African-American woman ran up to me, grabbed my hands, and yelled "F*** Justin Timberlake! You're my dawg!" I also caught a free Ryan Adams concert in Battery Park and ran into a few familiar faces at Tracy's party.
Please keep Don and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Peace.
