I love to draw more than just about anything else in the world. I started as a kid who drew a "weathermap" on our kitchen wall in crayon (twice). Graphic Editor positions at my high school and college newspapers forced me to draw on a regular basis. This is a small sampling of the work that I've done. I will be creating a new website section devoted to freelance illustration within the next couple of months.
[Second Nature]
I drew 446 comics over the span of 4 years while working for the Cavalier Daily in Charlottesville, Virginia. Clicking on the picture to the left will take you to the complete archives. Drawn in ink.
[Hoo-02]
Hoo-02 was our fourth year class mascot at the University of Virginia. He was featured on cups, flyers, chalk advertisements on sidewalks ("chalkings") and the class website. Drawn in ink and photoshop.
[Editorial Cartoon]
I drew about 150 original editorial cartoons as Graphics Editor of the Cavalier Daily. This particular one was drawn after September 11, 2001. Drawn in ink.
[Dance Marathon logo]
I was one of the founding members of the University of Virginia charity organization known as Dance Marathon, where students dance nonstop for 24 hours to raise money for premature babies. This logo appeared on our letterhead, flyers, ads and dozens of other things, including two tee-shirts that I designed. Drawn in Photoshop.
[The Imagination Travel Guide]
This was some concept art I did for the children's book that I'm currently working on, The Imagination Travel Guide. Ashley was a character from the Second Nature comic strip. Drawn in pencil and Photoshop.
[Cavalier Daily Staff Lithograph]
This cartoon-ified version of the Cavalier Daily newspaper staff was given as a gift to departing members. Drawn in ink and colored pencil.
