 | Songwriting, recording and performing to fuel rockstar delusions of grandeur is one of my favorite after-work outlets. I enjoy listening to music from a broad range of musical genres, from avant-garde 27-minute computer music pieces to the Korean boy band sensation Shinhwa. I play guitar, piano, harmonica and sing as well. | | [Okay Samurai] Since 1994, I have played in a rock band called Okay Samurai. We've written and performed well over 50 original songs, as well as our own interpretations of mainstream hits like Enya's Sail Away or Paula Abdul's Straight Up. Lately I've been writing more solo acoustic guitar music and performing with my roommate on drums. Our live performances have always been over-the-top-entertaining, from chasing cars in the street with a wireless microphone to learning the dance moves for a rock version of Nsync's Bye Bye Bye. You control a virtual person (avatar) who can walk, examine, rotate, pan, fly and slide around this world. Depending on where you go and who you find, different sounds will be added or taken from your world. This is a computer music piece that you control. Concrete World was created in Spazz3d and uses sounds created in Peak, Digital Performer and MAX/MSP. It is based on and influenced by Joran Rudi's Concrete Net. Concrete World was a final cumulative project for the computer music classes I took from Matthew Burtner at the University of Virginia. Clicking the picture on the left will lead you to the mini-site I created for this project, where you can view/play Concrete World. |
